Brookies First Icecream Cone
So Brook has had icecream before, but never in a cone. On Friday we decided to enjoy the whole day with our little bug since dad is finally on semester break!!!!! Yeah! We went to Louisville, CO because we googled best icecream in Colorado, and this is what it gave us. Louisville is between Denver and Boulder, and it was a way cute little city. And yes, the icecream, which was actually gelato, was great!

Update
So yeah!!! Good news! They caught the menacing thieves and recovered our car. It is still in the body shop, but eventually we should be back in the Infiniti! Yeah! Sad thing is that it turned out to be our neighbor boy and one of his gang friends. We had a feeling it could be him cause he is always hanging around shady people, but it was still kind of shocking. He is 18 and his friend is a juvi, although they both lived with their parents. They got caught because they stole a gun from someone else and were threatening people in our car, so our plate kept getting called in for "gang incidents" and they finally caught up with them at the Aurora mall movie theater. Unfortunately that have not recovered any of our other belongings. We have been invited to the hearings and the judge wants a statement of losses from us to take into consideration at sentencing. When I went to the impound lot to see the car it looked banged up, but not too bad. The inside was filthy with liquor and teenage boy things like a play station and some Michael Jordan spray. It was funny cause our insurance guy saw that I was just going to trash everything and he asked if he could have the alcohol. I let him have it, but thinking about it now I should have sold it to him for the price of our deductable. Oh well, haha. It surprised me when the body shop said that it would be $5300 to fix. I guess car things are more expensive than I thought. We still don't know how they got our keys in the first place, but hopefully that will come out at the hearing. Sadly, our neighbors mom is not cooperating with the police. We have been told not to even approach her.
In other news we moved! Yeah!! We love our new place (which is only 3 blocks away) but it feels like a fresh start. Thanks to everyone who helped out! We will post pics later.
Also, I am officially closer to 30 than 20! For my b-day we went to the circus (it was a riot!) and then out to Chinese food with some friends. I will also post pics of that later!
Also #2, Drew got the praticum that he interviewed for last week and to make it cooler its a paid practicum!! Yeah! Thats one less student loan on our ticket!

Robbery
ok, so many of you already know, but for those who don't, here are the details. So yes, we got robbed!! Wednesday, April 8th started like any other day. When noon came around, Drew had to go into school and I was going to take Brook to the park. We searched around for our second pair of keys and couldn't find them anywhere. We did not panic because A) we have a 1 year old and things get hidden all the time, and B) there are only so many places in our apartment for them to hide. So, Drew took the car keys and I took the house key and we went on our way. I got back from the park and waited for Drew to come home from school. He did for a brief second cause he was going to help with youth baptisms at the temple. Luckily my friend Pilar had asked if I wanted to come over for dinner. So from 4:30-8:30 that night we were all gone. And yes, we locked the door. We got home that night and were all tired so we went straight to bed. Well, Thursday morning we woke up and got ready. Drew had an important interview that day for a school practicum so he wanted to go get his hair cut. He went outside and returned within about 2 minutes. He asked me if I had moved the car, and I said no. Then we both ran out to the balcony and staired blankly at the parking lot for at least 5 minutes. Yes, our car was no where to be found. Completely and utterly gone. Thats when it was almost like our eyes were opened. We started looking around the apartment and noticed that things had been moved. In horror we ran to our bedroom closet where we keep our safety box and...it was gone!!!!! We had passports, social security cards, marraige licence, and birth certificates in there, not to mention a significant amount of cash and our bank statements. At this point I am crying and Drew is in shock. We called the police and waited for them to come. In our vehicle was Drew's wallet (so we had to cancel all of that) and his Palm Pilot, our GPS system and an array of ramdom things, including our Motab collection that Bethany's mom gave us for our wedding:(. Lets just say it was a crappy morning. So as far as we can figure, this theif somehow got ahold of our second pair of keys, waited for us to leave and then came into our home and took what he wanted, then waited for us to get home and took our car. It is creepy to think that someone had access to our home. Lucklily we have some great insurance companies that we are working with. We have renters insurance through Farmers and they have been able to cover everything(including car stuff) except for the cash. They did feel bad enough about the cash though that they waved our $500 deductable. Also, we have Geico and we heard that they can be a nightmare when it comes to claims, but we have not seen that. Within 20 minutes on the phone, they had Enteprise coming over to give us our rental car and they cleared $300 in advance for a new car seat for Brook and cash for items in the vehicle. Granted, we would rather have our car and stuff back, but at least people are being kind to us. We also have had lots of support from our friends and family, thanks guys!
Anyways, just as an update, we have not found the car yet, but there are some promising leads. Our thief is an idiot. He threw Drew's wallet out the window and a kind lady found it on her morning walk. She called us and we got that back (yeah!) Then the net day on her walk, she noticed our mail on the street and a McD's bag next to it. She picked it all up and called us. The police were able to get prints off of the stuff, and our stupid thief left his receit in the bag. Well, Drew went down to the McDonalds and talked with the owner and they have the guy on servaillance video driving OUR car and buying food with OUR money. His face is kindof blurry but the cops said that the CSI lab will be able to touch it up. With any luck we will find this guy. We can say that he is between 18-22, hispanic male. And for anyone that is curious, he ordered a Big Mac Meal , biggie sized, and a Deluxe Chicken Burger, biggie sized.
Well, I know this is a long blog, but this has been our week, sorry no pics:(. By the way the ironic thing is that we picked up keys to our new place this last saturday. Too bad we didn't move last week-haha.
