Ok, now for the details. I didn't have my next appointment until this thursday but I had been up again with false labor all night and was so sad and tired that I called Monday morning to see if there were any cancellations so that I could be seen. They had an opening at 1:30 so I took it. Drew and Brook came with to the appointment and the waiting room was packed. I did not get back until 2:30 and I was being seen by an associate doctor since my doctor was out of town for the week. She checked me and I was dialated to a 6! Then she said,"uh-oh" and I said, "whats wrong?" and she said, "I think I just accidentally broke your water! Then there was a big gush and we were ecstatic!!!!!! She said that if I wanted any prayer of an epidural, I had better get to the hospital quick! Needless to say, that was motivation enough for me. We jumped in the car and ran across the street to Aurora Medicaland called my awesome cousin Jen to come get Brook. Drew stayed in the car with Brook and I waddled up to the labor and delivery unit. Aparently everyone in the city decided to go into labor that day as well. There were nurses briskly walking every which way and when I told them I was there, they put me in a room and told me they would be right back. Well....an hour later no one had come to check on me and my contractions were getting painful, so I hit the call button and the lady came on the intercom. All I could think to say was, "can I get an epidural please!" to which she replied, "who is this?". Aparently they didn't know that I was there! So a nurse came in just mortified that we had been chilling for an hour, and she checked me and said that I was already an 8 and that if I was going to get the epidural it would have to be right then! I calmly told her that I am the biggest woose on the face of the planet, and that I knew for sure I could not go natural. She said that I would be surprised, to which I replied, "no, you would be surprised!" So I got my epidural and the nurse said she had to step out for a minute and check on another lady. About 2 minutes later I told Drew that I felt like I had to go #2, and so we called the nurse to tell her. She came back in and lifted the sheet and said, "oh no, he's crowning!" to which she ran to the door and said, "hey I need a doctor in here, any doctor will do!" Sad to say, I don't even know the name of the doctor who came in, but she strapped on some gloves and went to work. 6 minutes later, T-Ray was born!!!! It was a quick and relatively painless delivery, and I have to say, he is sooooooo cute!!! And amazingling enough, his stats are the exact same as Brookie! 7lbs 3oz, 20 in. Well, I will post more pics!
